Does it take more energy to metabolize fats from carbohydrates?
Someone told me to eat a pound of bacon that generate an increase of less energy to eat a pound of carbohydrate due to metabolize fat more energy cost. Can anyone clarify if it is true? Does metabolize fat have much more energy than it provides a lower net profit of calories as carbohydrates do? So when they say 9 kilocalories per gram of fat, 9kcals mean earned * *? Compared with 9 kcal unless it is necessary to use it?
No, not true. You get about double the calories released to metabolize an ounce of fat as it does a gram of carbohydrate.
